We are committed to your safety.

As you know this year has been a little different due to the pandemic and we wanted you to know what to expect in the coming months.

Humber and other post-secondary institutions are offering in-person classes, but they are doing so in a limited manner, according to government and public health guidelines.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of learners and staff, therefore, in-person, on-campus learning will only occur for courses where it is necessary to do so.

As the Real Estate Education Program can be delivered remotely, both curriculum and assessments will continue to be provided online for the foreseeable future. This means that you can continue to pursue your career goals.

Learners who have recently completed the Pre-Registration Phase of the program have noted that being able to continue online has helped them stay focused and engaged while completing their studies.

Our learners will continue to have many opportunities to engage meaningfully with their peers and facilitators, using different platforms and technology.

We will provide updates about Spring program delivery as more information becomes available.

Post-Registration Has Arrived!

Post-Registration is phase three of the Real Estate Salesperson Program and must be completed within the two-year registration cycle with RECO.

This phase includes a mandatory compliance course and any two of the of the following electives.
  • Working in Real Estate: Ownership Alternatives and Complexities
  • Real Estate as an Investment Strategy: Residential Properties
  • Real Estate as an Investment Strategy: Commercial Properties (Fundamentals)
  • Working in Real Estate - Rural, Recreational, Waterfront Properties
    Available March 2021
  • Real Estate as an Investment Strategy: Commercial Properties (Advanced) Available 2021
The mandatory compliance course is a thorough review of a registrant’s regulations and obligations. The course examines how REBBA impacts your career and how noncompliance and complaints are addressed by RECO. Lastly, you’ll also learn how to maintain your registration under REBBA.

The Post-Registration Phase will launch on Friday, December 18th, 2020, with registration opening at 9:00 a.m. Course work will be available 24 hours after you register.

Announcing a New Website Experience!

On Tuesday, December 8th, the Real Estate Education Program unveiled a new, updated website. While the URL is the same, www.humber.ca/realestate, an updated look and user experience makes it easier for you to access the information you use the most.

A Few Program Reminders:

Simulation Sessions
Simulation Sessions:

Since the launch of Simulation Session 1: Residential Real Estate Transactions and Simulation Session 2: Commercial Real Estate Transactions, we have noted that weekend sections are filling up quickly. To help ease the wait times, we have introduced a scheduling calendar where weekday sections start on Mondays, and we have a cadence for weekends that allows for back-to-back start dates.

Please note, with every new Simulation Session offered, a two- or three- week registration period is required to ensure an optimal virtual learning environment.

Once sessions and waitlists are full, they do not appear on the registration system.
Exam Review Process
Improved Exam Review Process:

An improved exam review process was implemented in August, that helps identify specific modules and lessons that need additional study, ensuring that you have better control of your studies and can prepare in advance for possible retakes. The new exam report can be accessed from your Learner Portal. Learners can use the exam report to build out a study plan that focuses on the right areas of improvement. You can also use the report to call the Content Support Desk for immediate additional support, without waiting for an individually booked exam review.

ID Requirements
Photo ID Requirements for Exams and Assessments:

  • You must present a valid, government issued photo ID for each exam and simulation session assessment.
  • The name on your ID must match the name provided in your records in the Learner Portal, in order to proceed with the exam and/or assessment.
  • Learners must contact the program office to request any changes or corrections.
  • Legal name changes require additional documentation. For more information, please visit the Name Change Policy.
Program Structure:

Lastly, a friendly reminder that the program has a mandatory prerequisite structure. As each course and assessment builds from the one prior, the prerequisites prepare you to enter the next course with required foundational knowledge.

In addition, prior to registering for an exam, you must successfully complete the related course. For example, a learner must successfully complete Course 1, prior to registering for Exam 1 and this must be completed prior to registering for Course 2.
