Identify how many questions are in the exam and divide your time into segment goals. For example, “I will complete xx number of questions by the xx minute mark, yy by the yy minute mark etc.” If you find a question challenging, bookmark that question and return to it later. Other questions may help you remember how to answer that bookmarked question.

In most businesses, your network can be an excellent source of new perspectives and ideas to help you in your role. This is especially important for your career in real estate. Successful Real Estate salespeople build rapport with other professionals to ensure they can provide competent and knowledgeable services to their buyers and sellers.
Your Pre-Registration courses will help you identify the various professionals with whom you will need to connect. For example, lenders, real estate lawyers, inspectors, accountants, appraisers, contractors and photo/videographers, are just some of the people and service providers you’ll want in your network.
To build rapport with industry professionals and identify who to recommend to your future buyers and sellers, you can start the conversation with friends and family members now. Who do they recommend, why, and can these individuals provide the level of service your real estate business requires?

FACILITATOR-LED REVIEW SESSIONS
Facilitated Review Sessions (FRS) are delivered by facilitators who are industry professionals to provide supplemental learning and additional direction on more complex areas of a course. These sessions are available to learners who want to benefit from facilitator and peer interaction, collaboration and open dialogue.
Facilitated Review Sessions (FRS) are offered virtually, during the evening for three hours once a week for the duration of the course. Each evening session will address complex concepts drawn from specific course modules. For more details on topics covered in each session, please visit the Pre-Registration Phase , Course 2, 3, or 4 for more details.
Take the Stress Out of Exams
Many individuals have some degree of exam anxiety. This is normal regardless of how much you have studied. Anxiety may be reduced if you feel well prepared. For virtually proctored exams or in-person exams at a test center, try these suggestions to manage exam stress:
FOR VIRTUALLY PROCTORED EXAMS
Do become familiar with Exam Guidelines
Do turn off notifications on your smart phone
Do charge your smart phone to 100%
Do download the Proctortrack app before your exam
Do sit at a desk/table with a blank wall directly behind you
Do sit in a quiet, private, self-contained room (not open space)
Do ensure exam location is well-lit
Do not permit individuals in your testing location to enter, speak or interrupt you during your exam
Do not sit in front of doors (closed/open)
Do not sit on the floor
Do not have electronic devices in the room other than your approved exam laptop and smartphone
Do not leave your seat, talk, whisper, look away from your computer, or take a bio break without written authorization from Humber
FOR IN-PERSON EXAMS AT TEST CENTRE
Do take a bio break before exam check-in
Do arrive 30 minutes before exam to check-in
Do listen and comply to instructions and location rules given by proctor before exam
Do turn off your phone or turn on airplane mode
Do place possessions in designated area
Do not arrive after the exam has started
Do not bring any device into the exam room
Do not engage in disruptive behaviour at any time before, during or after the exam
Do not bring items into the test center not required during your exam.
DO’s and DONT’s FOR ALL EXAMS
Do present a valid government-issued identification bearing a photograph and signature (e.g., passport, driver's license)
Do become familiar with the Acceptable Forms of Identification
Do have your Humber login credentials readily available to access exams through the learner portal.
Do review the Examination Policy before each exam
Do comply with instructions and location rules given by the proctor
Do remove all unauthorized items from your desk/table before your exam
Do not eat, smoke, vape, or chew during the exam. Drinking water from a transparent bottle is allowed in some test centers and during virtually proctored exams
Do not drink a lot of fluids prior to exam as breaks are not permitted
Do not breach Learner Rules and Standards of Conduct

Helpful Exam Strategies
We all know that the best way to be successful in any exam is to acquire a full understanding of course concepts. But there are also some tips and techniques that can help you succeed at multiple choice exams.
Take the time to carefully read every word in each question to identify what the exam question is requesting you do. For example, do you need to identify a correct statement or an incorrect statement. Many learners may miss a word, misread the question or forget what it is asking.
Break the question into smaller parts. Sometimes long questions are hard to keep up with or stay focused. Read slowly, sentence by sentence, and make sure you understand each part rather than focusing on the question as a whole. Placing your mouse over each word may help focus better.
Be sure to read every word in all the answer options before selecting a final answer. Many learners quickly assume they know the correct answer at first glance but without reading every word in each answer option, you may end up not selecting the best answer.
Once you have a clear understanding of what the question is asking, think about what the answer would be and use that idea as a measure in identifying which answer option aligns with your thought-provoked answer.
Before submitting your exam, be sure every question has been answered.
What’s to Come in Course 5 - Did you Know ?
After completing the Pre-Registration phase of the Real Estate Salesperson Program, you have up to 12 months to register with RECO if you wish to trade in real estate in Ontario. To register with RECO, you must join a brokerage.
Course 5: Getting Started will guide you through obtaining and maintaining your registration and Insurance. You will also explore topics like first-year expenses and income; preparing an initial budget; networking, prospecting and building relationships; and exploring focus areas and choosing a brokerage.
