As we all work together to overcome the disruptions and change brought on by COVID-19, we are transitioning the Real Estate Salesperson Program to be entirely online. In addition to all program courses, all exams are now offered remotely. Exams have been online for more than a month, with 2500 learners successfully completing them virtually. We have also transformed Simulation Session 1 for online delivery as of July 6. We have also nearly completed work on virtual Simulation Session 2, which is scheduled for delivery beginning August 4 (two sections) and August 10 (three sections). Registration for virtual Simulation Session 2 opens on July 10.

Priority registrations for virtual Simulation Session 1 opened on June 24, 2020. Priority is being given to learners who were already registered in Simulation Session 1 that was cancelled due to COVID-19 and then to all learners who have successfully completed exam 3. We have more than 500 seats available in July for virtual Simulation Session 1. On July 6, 2020, registration will open for all learners and will include session dates in August 2020.

The mandatory virtual Simulation Sessions provide you with the opportunity to practice important elements of a real estate transaction in a structured and interactive environment using Zoom.

Optional virtual Facilitated Review Sessions (vFRS) represent a great way for you to review eLearning course materials with an experienced Real Estate professional. Learners also say that these sessions provide an opportunity to build a professional network and learn with others in a supportive community.

Virtual Facilitated Review Sessions are available for Course 2, 3 and 4. Learners should select the vFRS option when registering for a course. We have virtual Facilitated Review Sessions starting at the beginning of each month. To register for a vFRS, visit a vFRS supported course registration page (Course 2, 3 and 4), click Choose Filter and under Delivery Option, select eLearning with Virtual Support to filter course options with virtual facilitated review sessions.

As you begin your new career in real estate you will need to become registered with RECO. This process requires applicants to complete the registration education requirements, including obtaining an original Canadian Criminal Record & Judicial Matters Check (CCRJMC) from their local police service. The CCRJMC is then submitted to RECO in support of your registration application.

Please allow yourself with ample time to obtain the CCRJMC from your local police or RCMP services. Some locations may experience a high volume of requests and it could take eight weeks or more to issue the report.

Given the current circumstances and restrictions that COVID-19 has placed on public services in Ontario, we advise you to contact your local police or RCMP services location to understand the procedure for obtaining your CCRJMC as it may vary depending on your location in Ontario.
